How to use
- Enter the floor area in square feet.
- Enter the coverage printed for the coat you are applying. If the can gives a range, type the number that matches the surface you have.
- Press Calculate. The hero is gallons for that one coat.
- Run the page again for a second coat instead of doubling, unless the can says both coats share the same coverage.
How it's calculated
Gallons = floor area ÷ square feet per gallon.
No waste percent is hidden in the formula. If you want spare, raise the area or lower the coverage to the cautious end of the can's range.
Worked example
Four hundred square feet at 200 square feet per gallon is 2 gallons for that coat. At 160 square feet per gallon the same floor is 2.5 gallons. The difference is the coverage you typed, not a default epoxy rate.
Assumptions
One rectangular or already-totaled area, and one coverage. Absorbed primer and a thicker topcoat are separate runs. The page does not know the product.

Is this epoxy, paint, or sealer?
Whichever can you are reading. The page only divides area by the coverage you type.
How do I handle two coats?
Calculate each coat with its own coverage and add the gallons.

Should I add waste?
Only by changing the inputs. There is no waste box, so a worn floor that drinks coating should use the lower coverage from the can.
